How Long Does a First Aid Certificate Last?

First Aid and CPR is a skill -  if you don’t use it, you lose it

If you’re not using your First Aid or CPR training every day in your profession then it’s likely after a period your ability to recall your skills and act in a split second may fade along with your confidence.

How Long does your First Aid Certificate and CPR last in Australia?

In Australia, your First Aid certificate will last for 3 years. CPR expires after 12 months and it is recommended you undertake a refresher course every 12 months.

Some employers, organisations and regulating bodies have their own specific requirements or recertification schedules that are different from the general standard. In order to comply with these standards you should consult with your employer, organisation or regulatory body.

Validity of our Courses:

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is valid for 3 years from the issue date on your certificate. It is recommended that you renew your certification every 3 years.

The CPR Certification included in this training (HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) expires 12 months from the issue date of your certificate. It is recommended that you renew your CPR certification every 12 months via our half day refresher course.
