Advanced First Aid Course
HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid is designed to give you the skills and knowledge to recognise, respond to and manage an emergency medical situation, including CPR. It covers the essential items as per the introductory course (HLTAID009 and HLTAID011) and also gives you the additional training you need to respond to many more complicated medical conditions and situations.
This is the most comprehensive qualification in First Aid that is currently available in Australia. Completing this course you will be awarded:
HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
HLTAID010 – Provide basic emergency life support (BELS)
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
HLTAID014 – Provide Advanced First Aid
This course covers:
Taking and assessing vital signs, including normal clinical values (respiration, temperature, pulse, level of consciousness)
Secondary assessments
Basic triage processes
First aid procedures for the aged, elderly or infirm
First aid procedures for major and minor workplace accidents
First aid procedures for children
Use of ancillary first aid equipment and coordination of resources
Advanced first aid management for abdominal injuries

Who is the course for?
This a comprehensive course is for business owners, employers and employees who may be required to have formal First Aid and CPR qualifications for their statutory business requirements. This course is also open to those who just want to learn First Aid and CPR in general.
No previous experience or certification is required to complete this course.

Is there any pre-work or assessments?
There is no pre-work required, we cover everything you need to know in the face to face sessions.
The course assessment requires practical demonstration of CPR on adult and infant manikins on the floor for a minimum of 2 minutes so you have the skills required to act, respond and deliver first aid for childcare, education and teaching settings
Considerations before enrolling?
The assessment for this CPR course includes performing CPR on an adult and baby manikin, on the floor for 2 minutes each. This can be quite physical. In attending one of our courses if you have any concerns or anything you would like to discuss please let one of us know so we can assist you prior to attending the course.
When will you receive your certification?
Your Statement of Attainment will be emailed within 24 hours after your successful completion of the training.
Renewing the course:
HLTAID014 Advanced First Aid is valid for 3 years from the issue date on your certificate. It is recommended that you renew your certification every 3 years.
The CPR Certification included in this training (HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) expires 12 months from the issue date of your certificate. It is recommended that you renew your CPR certification every 12 months via our half day refresher course. Send us an enquiry here.

We specialise in providing practical First Aid Courses & CPR Training to Businesses, High School and Primary School Teachers, Students, Community Organisations and Groups, as well individuals in our community who would like to complete their First Aid Course and CPR Training.
